Once again IABC/Toronto is gearing up to recognize excellence in communications through the 2009 OVATION Awards. Internal, external, social media....we have a category for the great work you are doing and encourage you to be recognized by your peers.
The 2009 Call for Entries are now closed. IABC/Toronto received a record breaking number of entries this year! Winners will be applauded at the OVATION Awards Gala scheduled for May 2009.
Want a hint of what it takes to be successful? IABC/Toronto members have free access to the 2006, 2007 and 2008 OVATION Winning Entries booklet. Non-members can purchase the PDF of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 booklets for $40 each by contacting the IABC/Toronto office at 416-968-0264.
Although the 2009 final deadlines are past, it is always a good time to start thinking and preparing your entries for next year. You too could have an OVATION statue of Excellence or a Certificate of Merit in your office. See you on the podium!
The OVATION Awards began in 1985 when Master Communicator, Ken Cherney was asked to lead a team for the IABC/Toronto chapter to examine the existing awards program, which was then called the Toronto Accolades Program.
After some consideration, the team determined the rules and regulations upon which the OVATION Awards program was based.
The IABC/Toronto OVATION Awards offers the communications profession an opportunity to present its best work. It advertises the excellence of individual award winners while fostering a greater appreciation of the communications profession.
The OVATION Awards encourages all levels of the profession, from junior to veteran practitioners, to excel in their work and to garner the praise of their colleagues, their clients and their organizations. Who can enter? OVATION is open to members and non-members of IABC/Toronto. Join strategists, managers, independents, practitioners; corporate, government and not-for-profit communicators; agency executives; photographers; graphic artists; creative conceptualists; tacticians and students to be part of Toronto’s best practices.
All submissions are confidential and are reviewed by a panel of senior level communication professionals. Judges score each submission and evaluate an entry based on the information supplied and winners are determined by the highest total scoring.
IABC/Toronto OVATION Award of Excellence winners receive an exquisite glass sculpture designed by Canadian glass blower Kelly Lowe and a certificate of recognition. IABC/Toronto OVATION Award of Merit winners will be awarded a certificate of recognition.
The 2009 OVATION Awards will be presented at a gala event in May 2009.
