In this unique April 27th PD event, Ontario’s former Premier, Hon. David Peterson tells the story about bringing the world’s second largest multi-sport international games to the GTA and the greater Golden Horseshoe.

The Honourable David Peterson, Chairman of the successful Toronto Bid for 2015 Pan Am Games, served as Premier of Ontario between 1985 and 1990. He is currently a senior partner and Chairman of the law firm of Cassels Brock & Blackwell where he practices corporate/commercial law.
Mr. Peterson is Chancellor of the University of Toronto, a director of St. Michael’s Hospital and the Shaw Festival.
He is a director of a number of public and private companies including Rogers Communications Inc., Franco-Nevada Corporation and Shoppers Drug Mart and was the Founding Chairman of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club Inc. and Chapters Inc.
Mr. Peterson is or was director or active with a number of charitable, educational and environmental organizations including: the Honorary Chairman of the Ontario March of Dimes, the Ontario Canada Day Committee, Canadian Club, Cercle Canadien, Council for Canadian Unity, Young President’s Organization, World President’s Organization, the Society for Educational Visits & Exchanges in Canada, Frontier College, Peter Lougheed Medical Research Foundation, Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, Magnetic True North Theatre, West Park Health Centre and Toronto Abuse Centre as well as being on the Advisory Board of the Coady International Institute and the Steering Committee of the Toronto City Summit Alliance.

Toronto’s Annette Martell Named 2010 IABC Fellow
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has selected Toronto’s Annette Martell, ABC, MC, as one of its 2010 IABC Fellows.
The IABC Fellow Award is the highest honour the association can bestow on a member, and IABC/Toronto is pleased to extend its congratulations to our own Ms. Martell.
Martell is an independent management consultant with more than 20 years of domestic and international communication experience, and has held various leadership positions within IABC, including chair from 2002-2003.
The award will be presented on June 6, 2010 at the opening general session of the IABC World Conference in Toronto.

As a consummate communications professional, volunteer, educator and mentor, Bobbie Resnick, ABC, APR, MC, IABC Fellow, has been a communications and community leader for more than 50 years. This award in her name recognizes outstanding leadership, contribution to the communications profession and service to the community. For consideration, a team or individual must demonstrate improvement to their community through an in-house program or serving as a volunteer to an existing cause. There is no charge to enter.
