Have you completed IABC/Toronto’s Member Discount Program Survey yet?

IABC/Toronto wants to save you money! Take this short survey now to tell us what kind of discounts would be most valuable to you.

We're developing a member discount program that will offer you significant savings on a variety of products and services. By taking just a few moments to complete our survey, you'll tell us what kind of discounts are most important to you--discounts on travel, publications or insurance? How about office supplies, computers or professional development? We'll take what you tell us and look for organizations willing to offer you discounts on the products and services you're most interested in.

If you remember this survey from last year, it's not déjà vu--we ran it in spring 2009 but the response rate was too low for us to draw any meaningful conclusions. So please take the survey now, even if it's for the second time. It's very short, anonymous, and it will bring great benefit to you and other IABC/Toronto members in the not-too-distant future.

TAKE THE SURVEY NOW!

IABC/Toronto’s Website – it’s your website – so, be heard! We’re always listening

It’s here! IABC/Toronto’s new website launched on March 1, 2010. Along with the new website, we’re introducing a new and improved e-Lert. We encourage you to tell us what you think!

The new website and e-Lert were designed to better reflect where communicators are and will be in the future. These are some of the ways we did this:

  • Increased access and visibility of social networks

  • Made it easier to find content with improved navigation

  • Boosted value of CareerLine and Marketplace to both members and advertisers

  • Where possible, incorporated member benefits offered by the IABC World Headquarters to ensure members can access them more easily

  • Encouraged conversations – it is easier than ever for members to give feedback to the chapter!

Some important notes about the new website:

  • We value all comments (both positive and constructive) from members and non-members concerning the website. Since the website went live, we have already implemented changes to the site based on feedback received. Want to be heard? Send your feedback to toronto-info@iabc.com.

  • Bookmarks – some members have old website links in their bookmarks. With the new website came change of links. If there is something you are not able to find, please let us know and we’ll direct you.

  • If you’re using Internet Explorer, version 7 or higher is needed to view the site properly. You’re encouraged to find out what version you are using. If you’re still using version 6, the site will not view properly (and note, do a google news search on Internet Explorer 6 and you will find “funerals” and “death notices”!). Talk to your IT department to have your Internet Explorer updated – it’s free!

And remember – IABC/Toronto is listening to your feedback. Our members are our driving force. So please, let yourself be heard.

Gain Savings with Corporate Membership

What do companies like eBay, Mercer, TELUS and many more have in common? Each has IABC members who are realizing discounts and savings as part of IABC’s corporate membership package.

A corporate package is a group of individual members (5 or more):

  • Who are from the same company (but can be from assorted geographic areas around the world)

  • Who have the same expiration date and renew as a group once a year

  • Who pay with one cheque or one credit card number

  • Have one contact person that coordinates with IABC and is the liaison between group members and IABC.

Why not buddy up with other IABC members in your organization, and join the pack - explore corporate membership! There are various levels available depending on the amount of employees, and savings range from 5 to 10% on membership dues, if you qualify. There are also additional discounts on conferences and IABC’s knowledge resources. Even if you’re currently an individual member, IABC will prorate the time left on any current memberships to ensure that your group doesn’t pay twice for portions of any active memberships.

For more information, please see the corporate package information page on the IABC website, or contact: toronto-membership@iabc.com
