Make a Difference at the IABC World Conference in Toronto—Register Now!
IABC/Toronto’s Social Responsibility Committee is organizing this year’s pre-conference community project at Evergreen Brick Works, which will open in 2010 as Canada’s first large-scale environmental community centre.
On Saturday, June 5, IABC volunteers from around the world will travel by environmentally responsible transportation to this Don Valley site, which National Geographic recently named one of the world’s top 10 geotourism destinations. Check out the event video to get a true sense of the project.
In addition to picking up a wheelbarrow or shovel and participating in a naturalization project for the children’s playground or native plant nursery, volunteers can take a sustainable cities site tour and visit the popular farmers’ market. A local and organic picnic lunch is also included in the registration fee and IABC will also make a financial donation to Evergreen. Capacity is limited, so register soon!
Walking tours are another pre-conference activity that will allow you to network while playing the role of tourist in your own city. Participants can choose to visit the Distillery District, Casa Loma, or the CN Tower. The walking tours are free. You’ll need to pre-register, and pay any public transportation or admission fees.

New/Renewal Student Membership: $50.60 CND or $46 US - Student memberships are available to full-time students of colleges, universities and other educational institutions as well as part-time students working toward a degree, or a certificate program in Canada, who are not presently working in the communication profession.
Transitional Membership: $192.80 CDN or $175.27 US - Professionals who have graduated from a degree program from an accredited institution in the last year are eligible for the student transition rate.
