2009 is here and it’s the perfect time to reflect on your successes over the past couple of years. Entering the 2009 OVATION Awards provides you the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Entering the 2009 OVATION Awards provides you the following:

  1. Documented summary of your work done (entries are returned if requested on the entry form)
  2. Unbiased feedback/suggestions from senior level practitioners that can be used for future projects
  3. Moral boosting for you, team members and employers (clients)
  4. Proof that communication work DOES add value to everyday operations and is a VITAL source to every company
  5. And so much more!

What type of projects do you have that can be entered? Take a look at the 2006, 2007 and 2008 OVATION Winning Entries Booklets to see what types of work has won in the past.

Who can you talk to find out more about entering your work in the 2009 OVATION Awards? Please send an e-mail to toronto-info@iabc.com with your contact information and an IABC/Toronto OVATION Awards Team member will contact you. Also consider attending the 2009 OVATION Awards Workshop.

Please note that ALL entries into the 2009 OVATION Awards are kept COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL. Only winners are announced. Winners are determined by using an established scorecard – the number of winners is based on the number of entries that surpass a minimum score. Entries do not compete against each other.

Entry Deadlines:

  • Early Bird Entries received on or before January 22, 2009 (at 5 p.m.)
  • On-Time Entries received after January 22, 2009, but no later than February 13, 2009 (at 5 p.m.)
  • Last-Minute Entries received after February 13, 2009, but no later than February 27, 2009 (at 5 p.m.)

This workshop is for independent, agency, corporate or not-for-profit employed communicators, who are considering entering a program in the 2009 OVATION Awards.

The recent study “Survey of Generational Communication Differences Around the Globe” identifies trends in the way businesses communicate with diverse age groups in industrialized countries and emerging economies around the world. Research addresses how Gen Y and Boomers differ in their preferences for employer communication and engagement methods and their expectations of and satisfaction with employer communication in a range of specific areas. The report also addresses what changes Gen Y professionals feel are needed to improve engagement and teamwork. The study is FREE to IABC members and can be downloaded from the IABC Knowledge Centre.
