IABC Canada announces regional executives for 2010 – 2011

June 17, 2010 – IABC Canada is pleased to announce the executive boards for the Canada Eastern
Region and Canada Western Region for 2010 – 2011, effective July 1, 2010.

The Canada West Region is made up of six chapters: IABC/BC, IABC/Calgary, IABC/Edmonton,
IABC/Manitoba, IABC/Regina and IABC/Saskatoon. Each chapter in the Region also holds one voting
position on the Board.

IABC Canada represents more than 4,500 members. Through cooperation between the two regions,
IABC Canada offers national programs targeted to communication professionals, including the Silver Leaf
Awards
, the Master Communicator Award and Canadian conferences and speakers tours.

Some facts about IABC in Canada:

  • Canadian members of IABC make up 29 percent of IABC members around the world.
  • IABC offers an accreditation program (Accredited Business Communicator or ABC). There are
    currently 306 ABCs within Canada, who represent 40 percent of ABCs around the world.
  • Canada boasts three of the largest IABC chapters in the world. The IABC/Toronto Chapter has
    more than 1,600 members, followed by IABC/Calgary with approximately 650 members and
    IABC/BC with 625 members.
