Chapter Styleguide
The IABC/Toronto styleguide was developed to provide a communications reference for clear and consistent print and electronic communications for volunteers, staff and other members. It includes IABC-specific identification and terminology, style templates for print and electronic communications, a caps and spelling list, graphic design terms and more.
The language and format of the styleguide is largely based on Canadian Press Stylebook, IABC.com and the IABC StyleGUIDE from IABC World Headquarters. Additional content is derived from CGA Ontario’s Styleguide. Board members and other volunteers were also consulted on the content of IABC/Toronto’s inaugural styleguide.
This resource is meant to be used as a reference for standardizing communications. Despite changing times and technology, all contents are as up to date as possible. However, the styleguide will "change with the times," as it evolves in the future.
To contribute content or suggestions for future editions of the styleguide, please contact the VP, member communications, of IABC/Toronto’s executive board, toronto-memcomm@iabc.com. Contents may not be reprinted/reproduced without permission of IABC/Toronto’s VP, member communications.
