In this role, you will be a member of the senior leadership team of the Finance & Administration Division and as such you will be involved in ongoing often confidential executive-level discussions to gain a full understanding and to stay abreast of business objectives, academic priorities and major issues facing the F&A Division. You will be accountable for developing and implementing a strategic communications plan for the F&A Division that is consistent with and reflective of the Division’s Strategic direction and culture. You will provide relevant strategic communications advice and counsel and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from relevant sources to identify potential communication opportunities, challenges, implications and solutions for the Division. You will write, edit, and produce communications materials that generate awareness, understanding, and support for the Division’s key initiatives contributing to enhancing institutional reputation. You will champion the development and promotion of a strong and effective communication culture for the Division that is consistent with the University brand. Through a collaborative and close working relationship with the University’s central Communications & Public Affairs Division (C&PA), ensures efforts are complementary and aligned to the broader University strategic objectives and communications plan.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, you will bring a minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressively responsible and related positions with demonstrated experience in strategic communications. You will bring a thorough knowledge and understanding of strategic communications planning including social and digital media. You will also bring a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with partner groups to influence and provide strategic communications advice, counsel and support as well as demonstrated experience in developing communication plans. Project management experience required.
